Engine, Squad, Tanker, and Traffic 33 assisted Company 30 on a tractor trailer fire on I81 SB MM58.9 Tuesday evening that was originally dispatched as Silver Spring Township. Engine, Squad, and Tanker 33 were in the right place to use the crossover and respond North in the Southbound lanes when Fire Police reported the lanes were closed. Two attack lines were placed in service off E33 on the truck cab to knock down the fire; the second line was then used to cool the trailer. No fire extension was made on the flammable trailer contents. Crews were on scene over 1 hour with the traffic unit being committed several hours. Thanks to the crew remaining on station that assisted getting the rigs back into service after gear, hose, packs, and equipment were cleaned.
