The township companies were sent to 6499 Carlisle Pike for a commercial fire alarm early Thursday morning. E33 (with 6) was first arriving with normal conditions in a multiple occupancy building. Crews began investigating and had an odor inside. The box was upgraded bringing mutual aid partners. E33 repositioned and laid out from a nearby hydrant and stretched a dry line to the building. After gaining access to multiple businesses crews found a smoke condition and fire contained by the sprinkler system. This is certainly not the first “fire alarm” where conditions have been found after investigation, and a business saved due to a functioning sprinkler system! Not long after getting the Engine back in service at the station, the Engine, Tanker, and Utility responded to assist Monroe with a woods fire threatening a structure. This fire was quickly contained and no building involved. Units were back in Station by 06:00.
