At 22:21 Wednesday evening, Companies 33 and 41 were sent to the Flying “J” Travel Plaza for a tractor trailer fire. Chief 7 was advised of multiple calls. E33 (with 6) and Squad 33 (with 3) responded. E33 arrived with a bobtail truck fully involved and stretched two handlines. Crews were able to control the fire quickly. T33 suffered an air leak before leaving the station and was unable to respond. Thanks to Union Fire for also responding with Tanker 41 to assist. There were no injuries and crews operated for just over 1 hour.
