Reported House Fire in Monroe

June 14, 2026

On Saturday evening, fire and EMS crews responded to a reported house fire on Simmons Road in Monroe Township. Multiple units, including an engine, tanker, squad, and traffic control, responded from Co. 33.

Engine 33 arrived first and established a water supply by laying a five-inch hose down the driveway. The tanker followed the engine to provide additional support. Upon arrival, firefighters observed flames on the rear side of the home and immediately began extinguishing the fire using a handline.

The fire was contained to the exterior of the residence and did not spread inside. A search of the home was conducted, and two dogs were found safely inside. Because there was no fire or smoke inside, the dogs were left in place until their owners arrived.

Squad 33 was positioned at the end of the lane to provide extra water supply if needed, but less than 200 gallons of water were used to bring the situation under control. Chief 25 scaled back the response to just Companies 25 and 33. Crews remained on scene for less than one hour.
