The fourth call of the day placed E33 (5), Tanker 33, and Traffic 33 assisting Co. 31 with a reported chimney fire. Engine and Truck 29 were also on the call. While the Truck was making access via ground ladders, Engine 33 crew took interior operations. Crews found minor extension below the chimney clean out door; a small area was opened using the battery chainsaw. Crews determined that the chimney crock extended below the clean out and was packed with years of debris which was showing a temperature over 200 degrees. With no other option, we used a garden hose to cool the area inside that portion of the crock. The incident was eventually released to the homeowner who was contacting a professional chimney contractor to respond to the scene. While on this incident, Squad and Mini Pumper 33 handled an accident on the PA Turnpike. This placed 5 rigs on the street at the same time for daylight calls!
